December marked the first time in 17 months that we didn’t have a monthly update/prayer post, but it ended up being such a crazy and emotionally stressful month before I knew it we had long since passed December 1st. So what are we praying for during month 18 of our adoption journey?
- I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for a new year to begin. Ever since we found out in May that we wouldn’t have C in 2011, I have been waiting for 2012 since the exit permits will begin to be issued for his group of referrals. We are praying the ministry will move quickly to begin processing referrals from December, 2010. Since referrals generally get approved in chronological order, we have December, January, February, and March referrals to get processed before C’s will be ready to go. We can’t wait, so please pray this process moves quickly for everyone! We would love to go to Korea closer to April instead of June.
- We are praying for C’s transition into our family. It seems that so much depends on a child’s individual personality, but we are praying that the little things (like videos and pictures) we have been able to send him will help him get to “know” us during this wait and ease his transition.
- Please pray for us as we have to continue to wait patiently during this time, and we are SO OVER waiting.
- Please pray for C’s foster family. We pray they are healthy and continue to do well, but we are also beginning to think more and more about the emotional toll on them when C leaves their family, especially on his amazing foster Mom.
- Please pray for our little boy: for his health and for his continued learning and growth as he explores his world. He is turning 16 months old this month!
